No idea? No problem.

Time and time again we are faced with the task of coming up with the next best thing. All around the world, we read headlines stating that these new products or services are life changing. When entering the world of entrepreneurship, however, I was faced with the fear that I would never be able to come up with “the next big thing,” until I learned that the world of entrepreneurship isn’t just about the ideas — it’s about the relations, connections, and teamwork that brings these ideas about.

Scott Belsky, co-founder of Behance, an online portfolio platform, said, “It’s not about ideas. It’s about making ideas happen.”

From that, you can see that innovation doesn’t come right away. We all aren’t going to have million-dollar ideas to give, and each of these ideas isn’t going to be extremely successful right away. By learning how to make ideas happen, though, is where much success can lie.

The first step, that I learned to be helpful, is finding a way to sell yourself. Learn about yourself: what you’re good at, what you can bring to the table, and what you are passionate about. Entrepreneurship deals a lot with using your skills to do something that you love.

You don’t need to have a better idea than the guy sitting next you to be successful, but you will need to have a better drive and passion to make any idea successful.
